Is YECI free?

Yes. The image is free to pull and use. The AI agents themselves need your own accounts or API keys with their vendors.

Why is there no GUI or Xcode?

YECI is a terminal environment. It is where AI agents write and run code in isolation from your machine. GUI tools, Xcode and simulators stay on your own machine, working on the same files through the /workspace mount.

Where are my files?

In your project directory on your machine. The container only sees it mounted at /workspace. See Data & Persistence.

How often is the image updated?

Tool versions are checked daily, and a new image is published whenever something changed. See Images & Tags.

Which tag should I use?

latest to always get the newest tools. A dated tag (such as 20260928) to keep exactly the same versions, for example across a team.
